To mark the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,' Delhi Metro has launched a special train

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) launched a specially decorated metro at Yamuna Bank Metro Station on the Blue Line on Tuesday as part of the ongoing 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav-celebrating 75 years of India's Independence.' Following its launch, the train was immediately put into passenger service.

According to the DMRC, the exterior of this eight-coach special train has been wrapped and painted with a collage of images and slogans portraying the magnificent history of its people, culture, and achievements over the last 75 years, evoking the spirit of 'Aatmnirbhar Bharat.' "The train was symbolically launched on the occasion of Republic Day Celebrations to propagate the idea of nationalism and unity among the general people," they said in a news statement. "This particular train will remain in service throughout the commemorative period of 'AzadiKaAmritMahotsav'."

Since last year, the DMRC has been hosting a variety of activities to honour the 'AzadikaAmritMahotsav - 75 years of India's Independence' (AKAM) celebrations. The DMRC began its AKAM commemorative activities in July 2021 from the Lal Quila Metro station on the Violet Line in the form of an exhibition to highlight the historical significance of the historic venue from which the Prime Minister addresses the nation on every Independence Day, which is August 15th, according to the DMRC.
