New Delhi: As part of the Republic Day 2022, the President authorised the awarding of Correctional Service Medals to inmates.  It is on the On the occasion of Republic Day 2022, that President Ram Nath Kovind approved the awarding of Correctional Service Medals to jail personnel.

The President's Correctional Service Medal for Distinguished Service has been awarded to Head Warder Ayinaparthi Satyanarayana of Andhra Pradesh, I/c Superintendent Jail Harish Kotwal of Jammu & Kashmir, Superintendent Satya Prakash Swain of Odisha, Superintendent Manjit Singh Tiwana of Punjab, and Head Warder Praveen Kumar Rathi of Delhi.

Deputy Superintendents Pocha Varuna Reddy, Pedapudi Sri Ramachandra Rao, Mohammad Shafi Ur Rahaman, and Hamsa Paul from Andhra Pradesh, as well as Head Warder Samudu Chandra Mohan from Andhra Pradesh, are among the recipients of the Correctional Service Medal for Meritorious Service.

Warder Shyam Sunder of Haryana, I/c Superintendent Jail Mohd. Rafiq of Jammu and Kashmir, Section Officer/Deputy Superintendent Sajad Ahmad Khan of Jammu and Kashmir, and SG Warder Satish Chander of Jammu and Kashmir are among the 37 correctional officers who will receive Correctional Service Medals for their meritorious service.
