Top BJP leaders wants Angadi family to contest in Belagavi bypolls

The death of Minister Suresh Angadi demands bypoll in Belgavi constituency. Some BJP leaders are desperate in getting a ticket to contest from Belagavi. However, few top leaders including Minister for Major Industries Jagadish Shettar and Water Resources Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi opened up in support of Angadi’s wife or daughter Shraddha, demanding a BJP ticket to one of them.

Shettar is keen on Shraddha his daughter-in-law as his party candidate, whereas other leaders want the party to field Angadi’s wife, Mangala. Meanwhile, the list of Belagavi constituency ticket aspirants is extending. The name of Ramesh Jarkiholi’s son Amarnath Jarikholi who joined BJP in 2019 is put forth by the netizens for Belagavi Constituency. The netizens has showed a tremendous support for the past few days and the demand is refused by Ramesh by the statement “I will want my sister Mangala (Angadi’s wife) as the candidate”.

The Angadi’s supporters, intimates, relatives have rallied behind Angadi’s wife and daughter. However, Angadi’s close relative Lingaraj Patil met BJP state president Nalin Kateel to put forth a demand, ticket for one of the family members. As no one from Angadi’s family is active in politics, BJP top leadership maintains silence on the demand. The party wants to announce a person who holds the BJP seat in LS election at the Belagavi Constituency. As Belagavi is Angadi’s Fort for the past four elections from 2004 which shows the support and faith the Belagavi people has on Angadi.
