Toto Wolff Leading the Formula 1 From Former Times

New Delhi:-  Torger Christian “Toto Wolff” who was born on January 12, 1972, is now the most renowned Austrian Billionaire motorsport executive, investor, and former racing driver. He holds a stake of 33% in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team and is the Team Principle and the CEO of the Team.

Wolf began his motorsport career in the Austrian Formula Ford Championship and the German Formula Ford Series. He won the 1994 24 Hours of Nurburgring in this category and has since competed in the FIA ​​GT Championship and the Italian GT Championship. As an investor, Wolff founded March fifteen in 1998 and March sixteen Investments in 2004, initially focused on internet and technology companies. He specializes in strategic investments in mid-market industrial and public companies such as Williams F1 and his HWA AG in Germany. 

Wolf was born on January 12, 1972, in Vienna to a Polish mother and a Romanian father. his mother was a doctor. He is of Jewish descent and was baptized Catholic. He grew up in the city and was educated at the Lycee Francais de Vienne, a prestigious French school. Wolff's father was diagnosed with brain cancer when he was eight years old. His parents separated after his father's diagnosis. When Wolf was 15, his father died of an illness.

In 2009 Wolff bought a share of the Williams Formula One Team and joined the Board of Directors. In 2012, he was named the Executive Director of the Williams F1 and took its last race win to date at that year’s Spanish Grand Prix with Pastor Maldonado.

In January Wolff left the Williams Team and joined the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team as the Executive Director with his business partner Rene Berger who became the non-executive director. He acquired 30% of the Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Ltd. With a further 10% owned by Niki Lauda and 60% by the Parent Company.

Wolff took over the coordination of all motorsport activities from Mercedes-Benz, formerly held by Norbert Haug. In 2014, Wolfe sold two-thirds of his stake in Williams to American businessman Brad Hollinger. On March 9, 2016, Wolf sold his remaining stake in the Williams team.

As co-owner of Williams F1 (where Susie worked as a test driver until November 2015) and Mercedes Grand Prix, Wolff has racked up numerous podiums and enjoyed success with both teams. The 2014 Grand Prix Austrian Grand Prix was the 'home race' in Spielberg, Austria, with qualifying and race classifications also taking place in Monza, Italy. 

Wolff was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Cranfield University for his services to Motorsport in May 2021. In November 2021, Wolff was appointed to an Associate Fellowship of the Oxford Saïd Business School for two years to transfer his understanding of high-performance culture, team leadership, and personal effectiveness from the racetracks into the classroom. In February 2022, Wolff's leadership of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team was the subject of a Harvard Business School case study, authored by Anita Elberse. Wolff visited Harvard on 3 March 2022 to teach the case study to MBA students and lead a discussion on high-performance leadership and organizational culture.

In May 2022, Wolff was named as an executive fellow at Harvard Business School, a role in which he will serve as guest lecturer alongside Professor Anita Elberse. "It's really difficult to find a team that has won what is effectively a world championship eight times in a row. Usually, complacency sets in, or some other factor makes it impossible for the team to perform at the highest level. Team lifecycles are often thought to be very short, but Wolff has held the team at the top for eight years. I think it's really fascinating," Elbers said. 

Wolff is married to former racing driver and current F1 Academy executive director Susie Wolff (née Stoddart). He proposed to her on board a ship in Venice. They got married in October 2011 and live in Monaco. Susie gave birth to their only child, a son, on April 10, 2017. Wolff has two other children from her previous marriages. Wolff is fluent in German, English, French, Italian, and Polish.

Toto Wolff is known for being the richest Team Principle in the whole Formula 1 and also is the best one. He was also the winner of many Grand Prix’s and also won 8 Constructors Titles before Lewis Hamilton for the Mercedes Team.
