New Delhi: The Twitter accounts of some other party leaders have been temporarily blocked by Twitter after former Congress president Rahul Gandhi. Congress has now claimed that more than 5,000 Twitter accounts have been blocked, including the handles of some senior leaders. The party alleged that the Twitter accounts of party general secretary Ajay Maken, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, party whip in Lok Sabha Manikam Tagore, Assam Congress in-charge Jitendra Singh, and Mahila Congress president Sushmita Dev have been barred. The Congress party is now in talks with Twitter India. Senior Congress MPs are talking to Twitter about resolving the issue. A letter has also been sent to Twitter by Congress. The party wants the issue to be resolved soon. Congress alleges that the Twitter accounts of it and many of its leaders have been blocked by the microblogging site. Let us tell you that earlier the Twitter account of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi was locked for sharing on social media a picture of meeting the parents of a nine-year-old girl, the victim of the alleged rape and murder in Delhi. Congress has shared the screenshot of the message about the locking of its Twitter account in a Facebook post, writing that, 'When our leaders were put in jails, we are not afraid than what will we be afraid of blocking the Twitter account now? We are Congress, this is the message of the people, we will fight and keep fighting.
