Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, two people have been found with delta plus variants. One of them has died while the other patient has recovered from home isolation. Contact tracing of people in contact with them is being done. Where did the delta plus variant case in UP come from? The health department is busy extracting information about it. According to the information, a total of 850 samples were taken for genome sequencing in the months of April to May, out of which only 2 samples were found to contain delta plus variants, while 80 percent have been found to contain old wave variants in delta and others. In June, 32 samples of genome sequences were conducted, which are under examination in KGMU. In April and May, 30 samples around Gorakhpur were sent to the Lab of the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB) for testing. Out of 30 samples, 2 samples have been found to contain delta plus variants, while 27 have delta variants and one contains kappa variants. According to health department officials, the first person infected with delta plus variant was a resident of Deoria, aged 66, and died on May 29. While the second sample belonged to a resident doctor of BRD Medical College, who has been recovered from home isolation.
