Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had sought permission from Arthur road jail officials to meet MP Sanjay Raut. The jail authorities refused to give permission and asked that permission be taken from the court. Sanjay Raut was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case, after which the PMLA court sent him to judicial custody till September 19. Uddhav Thackeray, through another Shiv Sena leader, had told the jail officials that the meeting with Sanjay Raut should be kept in the jail cabin. The jail authorities denied permission and asked the court to seek permission for the meeting. He also said that the meeting cannot be held in the jailor cabin, this meeting will be held according to the rules of the jail, like the prisoners and those who meet them after the permission of the court.
