UK Secretary for International Trade visited BMC headquarters

Mumbai: UK Secretary for International Trade Elizabeth Truss visited BMC headquarters on Tuesday. The visit of Elizabeth Truss was for the discussion for ties between her country and Maharashtra for the environment, tourism, and culture.

Truss was welcomed by Tourism Minister Aditya Thackeray and Mumbai's Mayor Kishori Pednekar. According to the reports, she is on a four-day visit to India for talks on enhanced trade partnership. In Mumbai, she occurred with the United Kingdom's South Asia Trade Commissioner and the British Deputy High Commissioner to West India, Alan Gimel. BMC issues a statement where they said that Truss paid a visit to see the historic heritage building of the corporate headquarters and discussions were done on further strengthening trade and commercial ties with the UK. According to the statement made by BMC "The delegation visited the Golden Dome under the headquarters as well as the Municipal Hall. Ancient heritage expert Bharat Gothoskar informed her about the historical information as well as the features of the building." The discussions held between the two sides agreed to explore new opportunities to strengthen the United Kingdom's trade and trade relations with the state of Maharashtra.

 

 

Aditya Thackeray, in a series of tweets, talked about the meeting held with UK Secretary for International Trade. Thackeray in one of his tweets said, "Cricket was definitely not discussed today."
