Rajiv Kapoor had a heart attack. Soon after his attack, Ranbir Kapoor rushed him to a hospital in Chembur, where he was declared dead by doctors. The mountain of sorrows was broken on the Kapoor family last year when Rishi Kapoor died. Many Bollywood stars paid tribute to him like Lata Mangeshkar, Divya Dutta, Sanjay Dutt, Randeep Hooda, Anu Malik, Sunny Deol, Madhuri Dixit, Manoj Kumar among others.
