Washington: The United Nations says that the Corona epidemic is forcing nearly 130 million people for starvation this year. The United Nations has said that this year the number of people reached the brink of starvation worldwide is more than 10 million. The estimate was launched by the United Nations after a recent report shared on food safety and nutritional status. The report was sent on Monday by five UN agencies. The report states that the current economic scenario in the world suggests that due to the epidemic, in the year 2020, the malnutrition table may increase by 8.3 million to 13.2 million people. According to United Nations agencies, about 69 crore people died of starvation last year. This number is about 9 percent of the world's population. From the year 2018, it has increased by about 1 crore whereas, from the year 2014, an increase of about 6 crores is observed. If the United Nations reports are taken into account, there has been a continuous decrease in the index of hunger for decades, but from the year 2014, the starvation figures started increasing. United Nations figures show that the rise in starvation figures is still continuing. According to the report, Asia has the most malnourished population. It is estimated that 381 million people in Asia are vulnerable to malnutrition.
