Lucknow: In Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh, the news of police having an encounter with cow smugglers has come to the fore. In this encounter, three cow smugglers named Zeeshan, Saddam and Qasim were injured. Later all three were arrested. A police constable was also injured during the encounter. The incident is from 11-12 May 2022 (Wednesday) night. All cow smugglers are being told as professional criminals. Videos have surfaced on social media in which injured cow smugglers can be seen limping and wailing. Nipun Aggarwal, SP City of Ghaziabad Police has told that, 'Search was being conducted at the Jal Nigam police post of police station Vijaynagar. At the same time, the police got information about a cow being tied in a silver colored Scorpio. Along with this, the presence of cow smugglers was also detected in Scorpio. The police chased the smugglers. During this, the vehicle of the smugglers got out of control and collided with a tree. The police surrounded all of them and asked them to surrender. SP City has further told that, 'The smugglers started firing on the police after rejecting the offer of surrender by the police. During this, a constable of the police got injured. In response, the police also fired in self-defense which hit the three cow smugglers. Cow smuggler Zeeshan is a resident of Falavada in Meerut. While the rest 2 others Saddam and Qasim are residents of Muradnagar area of Ghaziabad. All of them have 7 to 8 cases of cow slaughter registered. A cow along with injections, axes, pistols, knives, ropes used for sedation have also been recovered from the possession of the accused. Further legal action is being taken.
