Lucknow: A major road accident has taken place in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi district late on Sunday night. Six people riding the Bolero were killed while four others were injured in a head-on collision between the truck and the Bolero. The condition of the injured is said to be serious. The incident took place in the Babuganj area of the Gauriganj police station area of Amethi district. According to information, the Bolero returning from the procession met with a road accident at around 12.15 pm on Sunday night. Some children were also present in the Bolero returning from a procession in the Nasirabad area of the Rae Bareli district. The Bolero had reached Babuganj under the Gauriganj police station area when it rammed into the truck coming from the front. The collision between the speeding Bolero and the truck was so severe that the Bolero's wheels flew away. Hearing the loud sound of the collision of two vehicles, people nearby rushed towards the spot. People who reached the spot started trying to rescue the injured trapped in the Bolero and immediately informed the police about the accident. On receiving the information, a police team also reached the spot. Police, who rushed to the spot, pulled all of them out of the Bolero and rushed them to a nearby hospital for treatment, where doctors declared six dead. Four other injured are undergoing treatment.
