Aligarh: In Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, a Muslim youth has changed religion to Hinduism. Since then, he has been receiving threats to kill him. The man, who became a Hindu by conversion, has now sought protection from the police. He says he is getting threatened for changing his religion. Qasim, 26, has become a Hindu by changing religion a few days ago.

Qasim has now become Karamvir by adopting the necessary procedure in the Arya Samaj. On this change of religion, Karamvir says, "It felt that our ancestors were not Akbar-Babar's offspring, our ancestors belonged to Hindu society, that is what I liked and I have come to my ancestors, I have returned home, with the whole family, without any pressure." He says that my name was Qasim and I have changed my religion now. When I told people in the Muslim community about conversion, I and my family are being threatened with death. I need protection.

On Qasim alias Karamvir's complaint, Superintendent of Police Crime Arvind Kumar said, "We have filed the case on the basis of the victim's complaint. He (Qasim alias Karamvir) has alleged that he is being threatened by some people so we have deployed security at his house."
