On Thursday, Virat Kohli became the fastest batsman in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to complete 5000 runs. The Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper achieved the feat during his side's encounter against Mumbai Indians at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Kohli was 46 runs away from achieving the feat and scored exactly the same amount of runs before getting dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah. Here it is to be noted that Kohli notched up 46 runs off 32 deliveries with the help of six fours to become the fastest batsman to achieve the milestone. He completed the feat in 157 innings and joined Suresh Raina in becoming only the second batsman in the history of the tournament to score 5000 runs. Raina had achieved the feat in the opening encounter of the season against RCB at the Chepauk Stadium. also read Virat Kohli stands 46 runs away from achieving this milestone in IPL career Recently, Raina is the all-time leading run-getter in the IPL with 5034 runs in 178 matches.
