Earlier, Shahid Afridi had requested former Indian captain Kohli to retire at the right time. After this, users trolled him fiercely. Fans had pulled up Afridi fiercely.

Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has also given a statement about Kohli's retirement. Akhtar said that if Kohli has to prolong his career in formats like ODIs and Tests, then he should retire from T20. If I were in his place, I would have done something similar. Shoaib Akhtar further said, 'Virat Kohli can announce retirement after the T20 World Cup. He can do this to prolong his career in the rest of the format. If I was in his place, I would have also looked at my career longer and taken the same decision. '

Recently, Afridi, while talking to Pakistani channel Samaa TV, had said, 'You should not reach a level where you have to drop from the team. Instead, when you are at your peak, you should announce retirement. However, this rarely happens. Very few players, especially cricketers from Asian countries, are able to take such a decision, but I think when Virat does it, he will do it well and probably end his career the way he started his career.'

He further said that the way Virat played cricket and the way he started his career, he overcame struggles and worked hard before making a name for himself. He is a champion and I believe there comes a stage when you are moving towards retirement. The target of the player on this type of stage should be to finish at the height.
