New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian cricket team for the T20 World Cup to be hosted by Australia. As expected, BCCI has given place to the players in the team, but still, some players are out, about which the board is being criticized.

These include the name of wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson. Sanju, who was the captain of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has not been included in the World Cup squad. Former BCCI chief selector MSK Prasad has given a big statement on this. MSK Prasad said that the team management does not want Sanju Samson to play in the World Cup. This is the reason why he did not give more chances to Sanju. If Sanju has to be taken in the World Cup, he would have been given a chance in the Asia Cup and some upcoming series, but it is not so. It is clear that Sanju was not the priority of the board.

Talking to the media, he said that, 'The question is, which player will Sanju Samson replace in the team? Deepak Hooda gives you an extra bowling option. He can bat at any number like Sanju. Whereas Shreyas Iyer has done well in the home series against Sri Lanka and West Indies.' He further said 'If the team management wanted to take Sanju Samson in the squad, he would have played in the Asia Cup or in the home series against Australia and South Africa to be held after that. If he is not selected, it means that he was not in the eyes of the selectors. I think after this World Cup, Sanju Samson, Ravi Bishnoi and Ishan Kishan will get more chances than other players. Especially in T20, they will get frequent opportunities.'
