New Delhi: Senior virologist Dr Shahid Jamil on Sunday resigned as chairman of the Scientific Advisory Group of the Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG). Shahid Jamil was a member of the special advisory group formed by the central government that was responsible for identifying the genome structure of the virus. In the midst of the crisis of the corona epidemic, Dr. Shahid Jamil was given up on important responsibility by the government. He was appointed as a chief of the Scientific Advisory Group identifying the genome structure of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. But on Sunday he resigned from the post.
