Virtual National Sports Awards: President will be present in Rashtrapati Bhavan and Awardees at SAI centres

Due to COVID-19, this time the National Awards Sports Program will be organized virtually. The awards will be called along with the trophy and dress at their nearest Sports Authority of India centre. After that, President Ram Nath Kovind will hand over the certificate to them from Rashtrapati Bhavan. The program will be held on August 29 on National Sports Day, which will be telecast live on Doordarshan.

According to the sources ', A meeting was held on Thursday between the Sports Ministry and Doordarshan high officials for how the program would be organized. The names of all the 62 players nominated are expected to receive Awards by the Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday. Orders have been placed to sew dresses of the players by taking their measurements.

So far 16 Sports Authority of India centres have been selected to call the players. Trophies and medals awarded to players will be delivered in these centres. The dress can be delivered to their homes. Players will receive online awards from the President following the protocol. The program will be in the same way as has been done until now. Ministry and Sports Authority of India officials will be sitting in another hall in Delhi. Doordarshan cameras will be installed at all places. The President will give a certificate to the players. The ceremony will now be organized in a different way.
