Seven-year-old girl was raped, now court sentenced to 10 years imprisonment

Kolkata: A District Court in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, on Friday gave a verdict in the case of raping a seven-year-old girl in 2014, the court sentenced the rape accused to 10 years rigorous imprisonment. According to the information given by the police, Shambhu Haldar, a resident of ULTARADANGA mainway area, called the girl living in the neighbourhood in her room on the pretext of playing Ludo and had committed a rape incident.

The victim's mother had reported the incident to the police on January 1, 2014, on the basis of which a case was registered against Shambhu Haldar under the section 376 (1) (rape) of the Indian Penal Code at Uladanga police station. The POCSO Act was also imposed against the accused in the charge sheet presented in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge of Alipur.

After which the court heard both the sides in this case, after hearing, the court has sentenced the middle-aged to 10 years rigorous imprisonment.
