A case has been registered in his Baharampore police station under Section 501/504/505 (2) / 295A / 34 IPC.

BJP MP Arjun Singh on Tuesday shared a tweet from his official Twitter handle, claiming that a special religious group had demolished a temple of Goddess Kali in Murshidabad area of West Bengal and the idol has been burnt. He also described the jihadist nature of CM Mamata Banerjee's politics in the tweet. BJP MP Arjun Singh's claim was denied by the management of Kali Temple in Murshidabad. According to Shukdev Bajpayee, secretary of Alampur Kali Maa Temple, there was no communal angle to the incident. It can be any kind of accident because the locks of the temple are safe.

According to Shukdev Bajpayee, Hindu and Muslim people live peacefully in the area and there is no problem. He said that some people are giving it a communal angle for their political gains. Murshidabad police also responded to Arjun Singh's tweet saying that it was an accident, do not share the tweet without personally verifying the facts.
