TMC councillor shot dead in Bengal, Police Investigating

Kolkata: Corporation councilor Khalid Khan has been shot dead from Asansol in West Bengal. Khalid Khan was a councilor from Ward No. 66. A team led by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Anamitra Das has rushed to the spot and launched an investigation. Mayor Jitendra Tiwari from Asansol also rushed to the local hospital. Khalid Khan was also taken to a local hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead.

According to the report, Khalid Khan was a Trinamool Congress (TMC) councilor from Manbedia area of Kulti police station. After eating the food he was strolling near his residence. Three bike riders opened indiscriminate fire on Khalid Khan. Khalid Khan received three bullets, then Khalid was taken to a local nursing home for treatment where he was referred to Asansol District Hospital. The doctors there declared him dead.

Police are conducting continuous raids to nab the accused. Police are investigating CCTV footage to identify the accused. Khalid Khan's brother, Arman Khan, said Khalid Khan had been attacked before, but he narrowly escaped the attack. Now he was attacked for a second time while strolling near the house. He died in it. Arman Khan has said that Tinku Sheikh, Qadir Sheikh, and Shahid Sheikh were behind the incident.

The change will be made by amending the Motor Vehicles Act from September 1
