Swami Vivekananda, the great philosopher, played an important role in the prosperity and upliftment of India. He was born on this day in Calcutta, the capital of West Bengal, in 1863. His real name was Narendranath Dutt, but after coming into monk life, his name became Swami Vivekananda. At a very young age, he acquired knowledge of the Vedas and philosophy. Swami Vivekananda had said that 'think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.' This is the basic mantra of success, even today many of us believe in the impression of the youth, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, but do you know who Abdul Kalam's impression is? No, let us not tell you that his impression is none other than Swami Vivekananda. And not only that, there are many big legends including Nicola Tesla, Lal Bahadur Shastri whose impression is Swami Vivekananda. That's where we're going to tell some of the stories of his life that very few people would know about. So let's know. The first story- Once Swami Vivekananda had to cross the river and he was standing near the river, a monk approached him and asked if he was Swami Vivekananda, he replied, "Yes, I am Swami Vivekananda,'' then the sadhu asked him what you are doing here, So Swami Vivekananda replied- That I have to cross the river, so I am waiting for the boat. It was then that the monk said that you are such a big person and many elders consider you to be a source of inspiration. And you can't cross a river, look. Then the monk walked over the river and crossed it, and walked back to Swami Vivekananda on the water, and said, "Look, I have so much power, so much knowledge." But even after that, no one knows me. But you have neither power nor knowledge, yet everyone recognizes you. Then Swami Vivekananda smiled and asked the monk how long it took you to learn this knowledge, the monk replied that for 15 years, then Swami Vivekananda's boat came, and Swami Vivekananda put the monk in the boat and left. The two crossed the river after reaching the separate end, Swami Vivekananda took out Rs 1 from his pocket and gave it to the boatman. It was then that Swami Vivekananda said to the monk that you had wasted 15 years of your life for the same work you could do for 50 paise. And if you had taken the same 15 years for the good of society, everyone would know you today. And I did the same thing so today the whole world knows me and not you, even after which Swami Vivekananda said to the monk, "Like you, there are many people in the world who waste their time like this and can't do anything in their lives." So put your precious time in a place that you can benefit from all your life. Second story- Once Swami Vivekananda was walking on a bridge, some monkeys fall on him, some monkeys scratch him, some snatched prasad from his hand, and Swami Vivekananda started running away to get rid of those monkeys. Swami Vivekananda was running away and those monkeys were also running after him. Then a person told Swami Vivekananda not to be afraid because the more you are afraid of them, the more they will bother you. It is then that Swami Vivekananda turns to Peach and screams loudly at those monkeys with big eyes out. That's when all the monkeys run away. And our negative thoughts are like monkeys, the more negative thoughts we fear, the more they will scare us. So don't be afraid of negative thoughts, but face them firmly. This is what can make you move forward in your life.
