Raigarh: In a tragic incident, a man beat his wife to death with a stick in Chhattisgarh's Raigarh district. The criminal killed his wife because she had asked for tomatoes from a neighbor to make chutney and was going to her house to pick it up. On receiving the news of the incident, the police reached the spot and took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem. Police have arrested Bhagat Ram Agaria and sent him to jail on charges of killing his wife. The incident took place on Thursday night at Bhedimuda village in the Lailunga assembly constituency. Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena said 50-year-old Bhagat Ram Agaria killed his wife Dilo Bai Agaria (45) by hitting her with a stick. Because even after his refusal, his wife was going to the neighboring house to ask for tomatoes. The culprit has been arrested in this case. Further action is being taken. The police reached the spot immediately after getting information about the incident. The woman's body was lying on the ground and the culprit fled from the spot. On the information of the family members, the criminal was caught and brought to the police station within a few hours of the incident. After being produced in court, he was sent to jail on judicial remand. The accused's father, Indersai Agariya, told the police that his daughter-in-law was going to a neighbor's house to get tomatoes. The son refused, which led to an argument between the two, and Bhagat Ram came with a bamboo stick lying outside the house and started beating the daughter-in-law. Thereafter, she sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. On the statement of the accused's father, the police registered a case of murder and put the culprit behind the bars.
