Will Smith's apology to Chris Rock after Oscars Quarrel, here's how netizens reacted on Twitter

Will Smith took to his youtube channel to address the situation surrounding him and Chris Rock himself. Smith apologised to Chris Rock, his family, Smith’s fans and the celebrity community that was present while the quarrel took place. For the unversed, on the night of Oscars 2022, Will whacked Chris on his face on stage after he joked about the latter’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith's alopecia.

Will posted a 5-minute-long video apologising to Chris Rock, even though the comedian is not ready to talk to Smith about the incident, but Smith made himself clear, stating that he will stay put and wait for Rock to find where he stands and when he does, the actor will be there to hear him out.

Smith also made it clear that Jada did not tell him, to get on the stage and do the things that he did, and what went down at the Oscars was entirely his doing. Smith concluded the video with a promise of a better future, "I know it was confusing. I know it was shocking, but I promise you I am deeply devoted to putting light and love and joy into the world."

However, there was a difference in the perspective of the netizens on Twitter, many took the actor’s side, however, there were also many who flat out called him out, calling the video a PR move for the companies who dropped him after the incident. There were some who thought that Will did nothing wrong as Chris crossed the line and neither Jada nor Will got an apology for him.
