Lucknow: The BJP government in Uttar Pradesh is all set to fulfil the promise made to the workers in the Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra soon. In the marriage of the daughters of the labourers, the Yogi government of the state will now give an omen of one lakh rupees. This amount will be more than this in the marriages that take place in the mass marriages. The scheme will benefit the families of 1.43 crore workers registered with the Building and Construction Workers Board run under the Labour Department. The Labour Department has included it in its 100-day action plan. The Labour Department has so far been giving grants to daughters of labourers registered with the Board under the Kanya Vivah Sahayata Yojana in two ways. In case of a single marriage, a grant of Rs.55,000/- is given. While in a mass marriage, when married, the amount becomes 65 thousand rupees. To encourage mass marriage, Rs 10,000 is given in the name of the bride and groom's dress and Rs 7,000 is also given for other arrangements. In this way, the government spends 82 thousand rupees on each marriage that takes place in a mass marriage so far. As per the election promise of the Yogi government, now a proposal has been prepared to increase this shagun to one lakh rupees to be given in the marriage of the daughter of the workers. It will be placed before the Board. In such a situation, the amount of a single marriage will increase from 55 thousand to one lakh rupees. While in a mass marriage, in addition to one lakh rupees, 10 thousand rupees can be for the dress and seven thousand for other arrangements.
