In medieval times, invaders systematically sought out temples and memorials associated with Lord Rama and Hanumanji, aiming to erase their existence. Today, across the nation, significant sites and places linked to Rama and Hanumanji must be sought out, excluding the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Here are some prominent Rama temples and sites:

Raghunath Temple: Located in Jammu city, Jammu and Kashmir, this temple is an architectural marvel. Maharaja Gulab Singh initiated its construction in 1835, and Maharaja Ranjit Singh completed it. Seven historical religious sites are present within the temple premises. Gold-plated walls adorn the temple's interior, and numerous smaller temples surround it, connected to deities from the Ramayana era.

Triprayar Sri Rama Temple: Situated in the southwestern city of Triprayar in Kerala, this temple stands along the riverbank. It is believed that the deity installed here was found by the local chief on the seashore. The idol embodies the essence of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, and traditional arts like Koodiyattam are regularly performed here.

Sri Seetharamachandra Swamy Temple (Bhadrachalam): Located in Bhadrachalam city, Andhra Pradesh, this temple was built on the banks of the Godavari River, where Rama and his companions crossed during the rescue of Sita from Lanka. The temple was constructed by a tahsildar named Kancheli Gopanna during the medieval period. Regular buses operate to this site from Hyderabad or Vijayawada.

Sri Tirunarayana Swamy Temple, Melkote, Karnataka: Melkote, also known as Thirunarayanapuram, is a small town in Mandya district, Karnataka, situated on the banks of the Cauvery River. It houses two temples atop Yadugiri Hill, dedicated to Lord Narasimha and Lord Narayana. It is located 51 kilometers from Mysore and 133 kilometers from Bangalore.

Hariharanath Temple (Sonepur): This temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, was built during the Treta Yuga, according to legends, when Lord Rama was on his way to Sita's swayamvara. It is situated at the confluence of the Ganga and Gandak rivers, near Saran and Vaishali districts. Regular buses are available from Hyderabad or Vijayawada.

Thiruvangad Sri Ramaswamy Temple, Kannur District, Thalassery (Kerala): A famous fort built by the British exists in Thalassery, Kerala, and nearby stands the renowned Rama temple. It is believed to have been constructed 2,000 years ago. Thalassery is approximately 93 kilometers from the Calicut International Airport.

Ramabhadraswamy Temple, Thrissur District (Kerala): The temple dedicated to Ramabhadra Swamy is world-famous for its grandeur. It is located in Thrissur, approximately 85 kilometers from Kochi's airport. Thiruvilwamala, located 47 kilometers from Thrissur, is a beautiful coastal town in northern Kerala.

Ram Temple of Chitrakoot: Lord Rama, along with his brother Lakshmana and wife Sita, visited Prayag (modern-day Allahabad). This place is significant as the confluence of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers. They then proceeded to Chitrakoot, where they stayed for some time. Chitrakoot is replete with sites associated with their lives, including Ramghat, Janaki Kund, Hanuman Dhara, and Gupta Godavari.

Rama's Journey in Madhya Pradesh: Lord Rama reached Madhya Pradesh after visiting various ashrams along the Narmada and Mahanadi rivers. He visited sage Atri's ashram before arriving in Satna, where Ramvan is located. Several monuments exist in the Amar Kantak, Shahdol, Panna, Raipur, Bastar, and Jagdalpur regions, such as the Mandavya ashram, Shringi ashram, and Ram-Lakshmana temple. Two caves are named Lakshmana Bongara and Sita Bongara.

Rama in Panchavati: After residing in the hermitages of sages in the Dandakaranya forest, Lord Rama, along with Lakshmana and Sita, reached the ashram of Sage Agastya in Nashik. The ashram was situated in the Panchavati region, near the origin of the Godavari River. Panchavati, located in Maharashtra's Nasik district, is a renowned religious pilgrimage site along the banks of the Godavari.

India's Oldest Temple: The most ancient temple in India was the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, which was destroyed by Babur. Presently, the ancient temple dedicated to Lord Rama is the Ramchaura Temple in Ramabhadrapur near Hajipur. According to local legends, this temple has existed since the time of the Ramayana.
