107 crore rupees tax scam, fake GST number created

The Punjab businessman has executed the Rs 107 crore Goods and Services Tax (GST) scam by showing a dozen fake companies and using fake GST numbers. It was busted by Directorate General Intelligence Department Shimla Zone 15 days ago in Baddi. Kamal Ahuja of Mandi Govindgarh is alleged to have committed this scam of crores by showing fake companies at many places in Baddi, Barotiwala, Nalagarh, Paonta, Kalaamb and Parwanoo Samith. In half a dozen companies, they called themselves directors and so many more companies have been shown in the name of someone else. Ahuja has been taking refunds for selling raw materials to Himachal's industries by generating fake numbers of GST. But when these numbers are matched in the computer, the fake GST number has been revealed. The department has arrested the accused and has recovered 100 percent fine repeatedly, taking possession of Ahuja's personal property at Rs 19.20 crore.

Investigators of the department found that the businessman has forged bills of 107 crores in Punjab, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh under different names. No one was found when the officials reached the locations where the bills were cut. When questioned by the local people, it was told that there is no such company here.

Apart from this, the officer reached Ahuja and was questioned in custody. After this the scam of crores has been revealed. It is noteworthy that the first such case of Himachal Pradesh has come up in GST. Officials of the same department say that much more fish are going to be trapped in it.
