Kolkata: Most states have cancelled their 10th board exams amid the crisis of the Corona epidemic. However, West Bengal has announced to take the 10th board exam. Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee today said that the 10th exam will begin in the second week of August.

After a virtual meeting with disaster management and other agencies after the storm yas, CM Mamata Banerjee said the 10th board exam will be held from the second week of August. However she also said that the time period of the examination will be reduced. CM Mamata Banerjee also clarified that students will be allowed to appear for the exam at their home centres (their schools). The exam will be only of the main subjects, not of the optional subject.

The Mamata government in West Bengal says the examinations will be conducted with full covid protocol. On the other hand, Bengal's neighbouring state of Assam had announced the board exam a day earlier on Wednesday itself. The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council said yesterday that the class XII and 10th board examinations in the state will be conducted in the month of July this year as per the format prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
