Let us tell you that most of the jails have more prisoners than the prescribed capacity. The Dasna District Jail with a capacity of 1,704 prisoners also has almost three times more prisoners. In fact, in view of the Corona infection, the government had ordered the release of prisoners who were sentenced to less than seven years on parole for 8 weeks to reduce the burden of jail. According to this order, 123 prisoners were released on parole from the year 2020 to 2022. Among them were women prisoners.

When the havoc of Corona increased, then the period of parole was also extended. After increasing the period of parole several times, the date was finally fixed for the prisoners to come back to jail. Some of these prisoners were to enter the jail by November 2020, some by November 2021 and some by February 2022, but 11 prisoners from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Karnataka disappeared after going on parole.
