Toronto: One such case of theft has come to light from Toronto, which you will be stunned to hear. Yes, gold worth $15 million (about Rs 123 crore) was stolen at Toronto Pearson International Airport and no one was even aware of it. Actually the incident is of 17th April. According to media reports, a container filled with gold from the cargo plane had landed at the airport.
Officials have informed that the container was missing when it was taken to unload. Airport officials have informed that when and how the theft of the container took place, it is being investigated. However, he did not tell from where this container full of gold had come and where it was to be taken. Peel area police inspector Stephen Duevesten described the theft as a rare incident.
He said that his team is probing from all angles. While talking to the media at the airport on Thursday, Stephen said that the size of the missing container was about 5 square feet and it contained gold and other items of monetary value. Officials have refused to say which airline sent it and from where it was loaded.
