Suddenly, a 12-story building collapsed, people buried in the debris

A 12-story Champlain towers building just in front of the sea in Miami, Florida, suddenly collapsed. One person has died in the accident so far while no trace of 99 persons has been found. The rescue team has so far rescued 102 persons safely. Local police along with a fire department team is also helping to rescue the persons trapped in the debris.

The same Miami mayor said Daniela Levin Kawa said the building is 12 stories and has more than 130 units. He said the rescue operation will continue till every person in the building is evacuated. Miami-Dead Fire Rescue Assistant Fire Chief Ray Jadallah said many of the rescued persons sustained serious injuries. They have been asked to be sent to local hospitals for treatment.

The local mayor said no clear reason for the collapse of the building is yet to be ascertained. A team of structural engineers will investigate the cause of the collapse of the building. It will also be assisted by the local fire department and surfside teams. Surfside Mayor Charles Berket said the roof work of the 1980s building was underway. They refused to accept it as the reason for the building's collapse. Miami-Dead Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Jdallah confirmed that voices had been heard from under the rubble. More voices are coming from under the parking garage.
