Rape of 13-year-old in Delhi shook me to the core: Arvind Kejriwal

A rape incident occurred with a 13-year-old girl in Paschim Vihar part of the national capital. The police have detained the accused. In the incident that took place in Paschim Vihar, the girl was not only raped but an attempt was also made to kill her. Police said that the girl's face and head were hit with a sharp object. On Tuesday, her neighbours found her soaked in blood at her residence. After this, she was admitted to AIIMS for treatment.

After the Delhi incident, CM Arvind Kejriwal has assured strict action. In a tweet from his official Twitter handle, he wrote, "The information of a horrific incident with a 13-year-old girl has shaken the soul deep inside. It is intolerant that these predators are roaming freely on the streets".

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said "By serving good lawyers in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government case, the accused has been severely punished. Doctors are trying to save her life. Her condition is very critical. We hope that she will recover and be discharged from the hospital". Earlier, the Chairman of Delhi Women Commission, Swati Maliwal had visited the girl at AIIMS and accused the police of delaying the custody of the accused.
