In the morning, the France President has accorded Ceremonial Reception at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Earlier EMA Sushma Swaraj met President Emmanuel Macron and hold delegation level talks to forge the strategic partnership in trade & investment.

During the talks, both the leaders have reviewed the progress achieved in bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. In total, 14 agreements are signed through a joint statement of both the leaders.

It is worth mentioning that before coming to India, France President Immanuel Macron had said in his statement referring to Rafael Deal, that if the government of India wishes to share some confidential documents with the opposition for responding to questions arising on the deal than, France will agree with the deal. Both the countries have benefited from this deal and the confidential information related to the deal on government accountability can also be made public, in which France itself will cooperate with India.

Macron arrived in New Delhi on Friday night on a four days visit to India. He was warmly received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the airport. We can say this is going to be a new start of a good friendship.
