In the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, 15 BJP leaders have resigned from the party simultaneously. Nothing good has been happening in the state for a long time now. The reason behind this is said to be the changes made by the state administrator Praful Patel. A case of sedition has also been registered against movie producer Ayesha Sultana by Lakshadweep police. Though the case was registered by BJP's Lakshadweep unit Akshaksh Abdul Khadar, BJP party leaders have now resigned protesting against the case.  It has been learnt that bjp state secretary Abdul Hamid Mullipuzha was among those who submitted his resignation.

In fact, Sultana is accused of spreading false news about the spread of covid in the Union Territory amid arguments in a Malayalam channel. He had said during a TV debate that the Central government used 'biological weapons' to spread covid swellin lakshadweep. The Kavarati police have registered a case against the movie producer under sections 124A (sedition) and 153 B (abusive language) of the Indian Penal Code. The party is now angry over the action.

About 15 leaders in Lakshadweep in their resignation letter to the state president said that his resignation was about filing a case against Ayesha Sultana, who had spoken amidst a channel discussion on how lakshadweep zero corona cases led to a massive escalation in corona cases with the arrival of the present administrator. He had also called the administrator's decision 'unscientific and irresponsible'. He further said that when you and bjp workers and people are opposing undemocratic activities in Lakshadweep, you have filed a false and unfair complaint against our sister, a resident of Chetlat, and is working to ruin the unke family and her future. We express our strong objection and submit our resignation from the primary membership of the BJP.

It may be recalled that over the last few days, the uproar against Praful Khoda Patel, the administrator of Lakshadweep, over the new reforms introduced by him has been compounding and it is also being said that they are against the interests of the islanders. People are strongly opposed to other draft laws like Lakshadweep Anti-Social Activities Regulation (Goonda Act), Lakshadweep Animal Preservation Regulation and Lakshadweep Panchayat Regulation, 2021.
