Noida: A 15 year old girl was allegedly raped and set on fire by her boy friend in Greater Noida’s Tigre Village at around 2:30 am on Monday and the girl is 60% burnt and in a critical condition in the ICU.

Ajay Sharma who lived in the same village was arrested at his house accused for rape and murder.

At around 2:30 am later on Monday, the girl’s parents heard her screaming from the terrace of their home in Noida. When they ran up, they found her on fire. The girl’s father is a tailor who runs a shop in the locality said “At about 2.30am (on Monday), Ajay came to meet my daughter. The duo was having an affair. They met on the roof, where he raped her and set her ablaze. He fled from the spot.”

He said around 10 months ago, the family complained about Ajay repeatedly peeping into their house. “But his family promised that he will not disturb us again, so we did not follow the complaint,” the girl’s father said.

However, the police is with the victim at hospital and recorded the statement by the girl who was allegedly accusing Ajay for rape and murder” said Rakesh Yadav, circle officer 3, Greater Noida.

Yadav also clearify No untoward incident was reported from the area so far. Deploying police was a precautionary measure as the victim and the accused are from different religions”.
