On Late Tuesday evening, an 18-year-old was killed in an accident between a pickup vehicle and a bike in Katalbari, Meghalaya's South West Garo Hills.

The person who died in the accident was on a motorcycle with a companion.  Romeo Koch was identified as the dead, while Polison Koch was recognised as the wounded pillion. The incident occured on Tuesday evening when a motorbike with the registration number AS17D4148 collided head-on with a truck with the registration number ML08F3215, killing the rider on the spot.

The other rider was critically wounded in the accident and was rushed to the Garobadha PHC for treatment right afterwards. According to sources, the driver of the truck fled the scene after the accident.
