1995 Hindutva verdict case: SC to continue with its hearing

New Delhi: On Wednesday, the top court will go on with its hearing on the Hindutva case which concerns with electoral malpractice begining out of its 1995 verdict. Yesterday, the Supreme Court announced that, “it won't reconsider 1995 judgment which defined Hindutva as - a way of life and not a religion.”

Social activist Teesta Setalvad filed an application in which she alleged the Constitutional bench to reappraise the 1995 verdict.

Chief Justice TS Thakur, who headed the seven-judge constitution bench, said, “the court will not go into the larger debate as to what is Hindutva or what its meaning is and will not reconsider the 1995 judgment.”
