Kolkata: Assembly elections are proposed in West Bengal next year, but before that the atmosphere in the state is hot. Reports of clashes between Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers keep on coming here every day. Now one such news has come out from Asansol in Bengal, where people supported by Trinamool Congress attacked in a political rally organized by BJP.
According to police, the goons fired at the rally and hurled crude bombs at the political gathering, causing a clash. At least two people were shot in the incident and rushed to the hospital. BJP leader Laxman Garui said, "Trinamool Congress-backed goons fired at the rally. They are trying to intimidate the opposition ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Bengal." A large contingent of police rushed to the scene to take control of the situation. They also recovered live crude bombs from the spot.
BJP's All India Vice President Mukul Roy said that Trinamool-sponsored conflicts are taking place across the state. Elections are proposed here next year. At the same time, Trinamool Congress (TMC) spokesperson Kunal Ghosh dismissed the allegations and said that there was a clash within the BJP due to a rift and the ruling party has no role in it.
