Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], May 9 (NT): Amid the recent horrible cases of sexual assault the most recent one is in it two minor girls were allegedly gang raped repeatedly for two months in Kolkata's Gobindapur area as ANI reported.

The gange-raped survivors stated that they had repeatedly been sexually assaulted by a security guard and his friend.

Both the accused have been detained, and a case has been filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

In the recent past, there has been a severe -surge in sexual crimes against minors and toddlers.

 The most recent and heated case which held In January with an eight-year-old girl, who belonged to a nomadic Muslim tribe in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua, was allegedly abducted, drugged, gang-raped, tortured and killedan when incident came to light the whole country showed outrage.

In Indore, Madhyapradsh an infant who is only 6- month old was allegedly raped and killed.

Taking cognizance of such crimes, President Ram Nath Kovind, on April 22, promulgated the Criminal Law (Amendment) Ordinance, 2018, for effective prevention against the commission of rape.

This ordinance seeks the capital punishment or death penalty for the rapists of girls below 12 years of age and rigid punishment for accused of rape particularly of girls below 16 years, thereby to strengthen the POCSO Act.
