Jaipur: A NEET aspirant from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, was found dead in Kota, Rajasthan, in what officials are calling a suicide. The incident was confirmed on Thursday, September 5.

The student, identified as 21-year-old Parshuram from Manpur in Barsana, Mathura, was discovered by his landlord hanging from a ceiling fan in his rented accommodation in Old Jawahar Nagar, Kota. The landlord notified authorities around 11:30 pm on Wednesday. A police team arrived promptly, but Parshuram was pronounced dead at MBS Hospital. His family arrived in Kota the following day to begin the postmortem process.

Parshuram had moved to Kota on August 30 for NEET preparation. His father revealed that Parshuram had been studying for the NEET exam in Kota for three years. He had scored 490 marks on his first attempt and recently achieved 647 marks in the exam. Despite his academic success, he had been feeling stressed due to recent controversies surrounding the NEET exam.

Chatar Singh, Parshuram's uncle, noted that his nephew had been in Kota for three years and regularly communicated with his family. The last conversation he had was with his father, where he expressed not feeling well and a desire to return home. Attempts to contact him afterward were unsuccessful.

The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the student's death.

The tragic event occurred on Teachers' Day, a day traditionally celebrated to honor educators and acknowledge their contributions. The timing of this incident underscores the immense pressure faced by students and highlights the need for increased mental health support and awareness. The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the student's death.
