Kolkata: West Bengal Police has arrested two more persons in the murder case of BJP activist Abhijit Sarkar. Seven people have been arrested in the case so far. Giving information in this regard, an official said, 'Two more people have been arrested. Their names were also registered in the FIR. With this a total of seven people have been arrested so far. An FIR was lodged against a total of eight persons in the case.'

The two arrested have been identified as Sanjay Dey (26) and Abhijeet Dey (25). Both are residents of Narkeldanga. He has been arrested from the house of his relatives in Chandannagar City in Hooghly district. Both are to be produced before the court on Saturday. In fact, a few hours after the election results came in West Bengal, political violence erupted in many parts of the state. Officially, 8 people were killed in the violence. One of them, BJP activist Abhijit Sarkar, was also killed.

The Calcutta High Court has also taken a tough stand in the West Bengal violence case. The court had ordered a fresh postmortem of BJP activist Abhijit Sarkar.
