The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won a landslide victory in the Haryana Assembly elections, due to which the enthusiasm of the party is at its peak. After the election results, two independent MLAs have decided to join the BJP. These MLAs are Rajesh June and Devendra Kadian, who had won the election as independent candidates. Both of them took membership of the party after meeting with election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan and other BJP leaders.

victory of independent candidates

Devendra Kadian achieved the distinction of winning the election from Ganaur seat of Sonipat district. He defeated Congress candidate Kuldeep Sharma by a huge margin of 35,209 votes. BJP candidate Devendra Kaushik came third on Ganaur seat. Kadian contested this election as an independent candidate as he did not get a ticket from BJP. He released an emotional video on September 10 saying that he wanted a BJP ticket from Ganaur, but the party ignored him. Due to this he decided to leave BJP.

Rajesh June also contested the Bahadurgarh seat as an independent candidate after not getting a ticket from Congress. He defeated BJP candidate Dinesh Kaushik by a margin of 41,999 votes. The victory of these two has further strengthened the BJP.

BJP's historic victory

BJP has made a record of scoring a hat-trick in the Haryana assembly elections, which is an achievement in itself. Earlier, no party in Haryana had been able to win the elections three times in a row. BJP has won 48 seats in this election, which is its biggest victory so far. Earlier in 2014, the party had won 47 seats and in 2019, it had won 40 seats.

Before the election results, the return of Congress was being predicted, but the party had to be content with only 37 seats. Apart from this, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won 2 seats, while independent candidates won 3 seats. After this victory of BJP, the party has decided to further strengthen its position. Party leaders believe that after this victory, there is a need to emphasize on development and public interest issues in Haryana. This victory of BJP has also raised questions on the policy and working style of the party. Overall, this performance of BJP in Haryana is proving to be an important milestone for it. This spectacular victory of the party indicates that the public has appreciated its developmental work and work will continue in this direction in future as well.
