Amritsar: Around 200 Hindus from Pakistan have come to India on a visitor visa on Monday. Officials said that many of them do not want to go back to Pakistan. They are telling themselves the danger of life in Pakistan. All people are expected to get citizenship of India after the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The Akali leader on the Attari border and Majinder Singh Sirsa, the head of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, welcomed four families from Pakistan.

Border security officials have claimed that the number of Pakistani Hindu tourists coming to the country via Attari-Wagah CM has increased in January. Most of the tourists who reached India on Monday are from Sindh and Karachi in Pakistan. Many of them have come to India with bags and said that they will seek asylum in the country from the Government of India. Sirsa has tweeted that many Hindu families living in Pakistan have come to India after being stricken by the tight policies there.

A Pakistani Hindu has said on condition of anonymity that Hindus and Sikhs of Pakistan and Afghanistan are hopeful of getting citizenship of India after the Citizenship Act (CAA) is implemented. It was said that most of these people have come to visit their relatives in Rajasthan. After CAA, he is hopeful that he will be able to live here in peace with taking citizenship of India. Recently, many cases of harassment from Hindus and Sikhs have come to light in Pakistan.
