Lucknow: The Allahabad High Court has dismissed the petition of Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan in the hate speech case. In fact, Azam Khan had demanded a stay on the ongoing trial in the year 2019 case and filed his petition. In such a situation, a special court in Rampur convicted him in this case in October 2022 and after that, the court sentenced him to three years in jail. Yes, and after this decision of the court, Azam Khan's petition became baseless. In fact, on October 27, the MP-MLA Special Court (Magistrate Trial) of Rampur sentenced Azam Khan to three years in the matter of giving an inflammatory speech and the membership of his assembly was also cancelled the next day of the sentence.

Now by-elections are being held there. In fact, the MPMLA court had sentenced senior SP leader Azam Khan to three years imprisonment in a case of inflammatory speech registered in the year 2019. Azam's seat was declared vacant the very next day of this punishment and after that, the Election Commission also announced elections in Rampur. At the same time, after this announcement, Azam Khan reached the Supreme Court.

Let us inform you that this matter is of 2019. In fact, during the Lok Sabha elections held that year, Azam Khan had made objectionable comments in a public meeting held in the Milak assembly constituency. Yes and this complaint was made by BJP leader Akash Saxena. This case was going on in the MP-MLA court of Rampur and against this trial, Azam Khan had filed a petition in the High Court demanding to stop it.

However, before the decision of the High Court, the court of Rampur had given its verdict in this matter and because of this, the petition of Azam Khan had become baseless. Yes and on this basis, the single bench of Justice Samit Gopal of Allahabad High Court rejected Azam Khan's petition seeking a stay on the trial in Rampur.
