Varanasi: Once upon a time half of the world's population used to live in India. You may be surprised to hear this, but it is true. A geneticist from Kashi Hindu University (BHU) has claimed this in his study. According to his claim, even though modern man originated in Africa, he was nurtured in India. As a result, 25,000 years ago, half of the world's population used to live in India.

According to the report, this result has come after matching 10,000 DNA samples from Europe, West Asia, East Asia, Africa, and Siberia with more than 6000 mitochondrial DNA samples from different castes and tribes of India. In the form of mutations in DNA, the information of our previous generations is hidden. Which scientists decoded through Bayesian skyline statistics. An example of this extraordinary nature of man in India is also found in archaeology. When the origin of microlithic technology is found in India 30,000 years ago. Its use increased the availability of food. Which gave speed to the process of human development in India.

Prof. Dnyaneshwar Choubey, a geneticist from the Department of Zoology, BHU and who conducted this study has informed that the DNA of 25,000 people is involved in this research. Samples of people were also collected from all over India. By comparing the mutations of DNA, it can be told that who came from where and how many years ago. How did the two populations mix with each other and interact with each other?

It has been found in this study that people of any caste and tribe of India are connected to a common group. 60 percent of people are associated with 'Haplogroup M'. A man emerged from Africa and reached India. Here he found shelter. Got food. Then humans went on spreading all over the world. In this way, it came to know that humans expanded in every region, but the place of their upbringing was India only.
