Nahan, On Wednesday evening, a youth drowned in Yamuna River at Paonta Sahib while taking a bath.

According to police, “Banti 27, son of Babu Ram and a resident of Yamuna Nagar, went to Gobind Ghat alongwith his friends after visiting the Paonta Sahib Gurdwara. He was swept by strong currents while paying obeisance to Paonta Sahib”.

The friend of the victim informed Paonta police that they had come from Yamuna Nagar.

After receiving information, police immediately pressed local divers into service to trace the drowned youth,said, Paonta Sahib DSP Bhishm Thakur.

The body is not recovered yet.
