New Delhi, In a shocking incident, police arrested three persons today for pouring kerosene on a 20-year-old girl when she resisted their advances in northwest Delhi's Bhalswa Dairy area.

As per the police, “Abhishek, his uncle Vijay, and one of their friends allegedly poured kerosene on the girl yesterday. She sustained severe burns and is stated to be in a critical condition at Safdarjung Hospital”.

The accused, along with their friends used to harass the girl, who happens to be a resident of Mukundpur area in northwest Delhi, a senior officer said.

The girl ignored them initially but when the nuisance continued, she complained to her family.

Yesterday, the girl’s brother threatened the accused who came to attack the girl's family.

The girl's brother also sustained head injuries and has been hospitalized in the incident.
