Assam Rifles troops detained three active National Socialist Council of Nagaland (IM) terrorists in Manipur's Kangpokpi district's Bolkot village.

On Thursday, the Jwalamukhi Battalion of the 22 Sector Assam Rifles initiated an operation based on specific intelligence about NSCN (IM) terrorists engaged in extortion activities. During the operations, the Assam Rifles team nabbed three insurgents from the proscribed NSCN (IM). Maithon Liangmai, 50, Mairikinang Abonmei, 50, and Siraibou Malangmai, 28, have been identified as NSCN (IM) militants detained in Langka village, Kangpokpi district.

They had a 7.65 pistol with three live rounds, a magazine, a country made shotgun with 11 ammunition, a country made hunting rifle, and 37 extortion slips on hand. The detained NSCN (IM) militants, as well as the confiscated materials, were handed over to the Sapermeina police station.
