Ramanathapuram: According to officials, today, 3 school headmasters in the district were suspended for attending an election training programme held earlier this month being drunk.

During the training programme held on May 12 at Keezha Muslim Higher Secondary school in Paramakudi, John Thomas of Mallanur Panchayat Elementary School, Raja of an aided school at Orikottai, and Dharmaraj of Thenur Elementary School were found drunk.

As per the orders of sub-collector Sameeran, medical tests were conducted and confirmed that the three attended the training programme after taking liquor, following which he recommended to the director of elementary education to take disciplinary action against the three.
