Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested 3 suspects from Ahmedabad based on inputs received from intelligence agencies. The arrest made on Sunday (May 21, 2023) from Narol in Ahmedabad is considered very important before next month's Jagannath Rath Yatra. All three have contacts with Bangladesh and Pakistan.

According to media reports, all the three arrested suspects are said to be Bangladeshi. The Gujarat ATS is probing how the three Bangladeshi suspects came to Gujarat and what was their real motive behind reaching Gujarat. The agency is also probing their connection with Pakistan. The Narol and Chandola lake areas have a sizeable population of illegal Bangladeshis. This is the reason why security agencies always keep an eye on this area. Now that the Rath Yatra is approaching, agencies have become more alert after receiving intelligence inputs. Reports say that the operation was carried out by the ATS in a highly secretive manner. Ahmedabad Police or any other agency was not involved in this.

At present, the three suspects taken into custody are being interrogated. Till the time of writing the news, the names or other identities of the people taken into custody have not been revealed. However, reports suggest that he has links with Pakistan and Bangladesh. According to a report, all three are Bangladeshi. In this case, his close relatives and nearby residents are also being questioned.
